saic’s new faculty members represent a diverse range of practices, media, and methodologies and exemplify saic’s focus on interdisciplinary studies. saic’s suggested fafsa priority deadline for each upcoming academic year is december 1 for undergraduate illinois residents, january 1 for all others. the mission of counseling services at saic is to assist students in meeting their emotional, psychological, and mental health needs and to contribute to a campus environment that facilitates the healthy growth and development of students. counseling services is staffed by full-time doctoral-level licensed psychologists, a licensed clinical professional counselor, a mental health promotion specialist/registered art therapist licensed as a professional counselor, postdoctoral fellows in psychology, and part-time psychotherapists from local doctoral psychology programs working under supervision. referrals to off-campus providers are available for open-ended psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, group therapy, intensive treatment programs and emergency psychiatry services.

all full- and part-time graduate and undergraduate depaul students can receive initial consultations, triage and referrals to mental health professionals from university counseling services. students can also access brief, individual mental health support via chat, and scheduled support via telephone or video with a counselor through the my ssp app. for direct access to a counselor, call 1-866-743-7732 (001-416-380-6578 outside of the u.s) or select ‘call’ or ‘chat’ in the my ssp app. for the chat option, you will have to indicate that you’ve read the chat descriptor, agree to terms of use and provide some personal details. for long-term needs, students will be referred to providers in the community. my ssp is a 24/7/365 service that students can access at any time.
